About

Through the mutual love of The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, Jake and Elwood have decided to start an in-depth blog analyzing every angle of this iconic sports team.

Jake is currently a teacher in northern Indiana.  Besides teaching the essentials of Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, and Lifeskills, he imposes his passion of Notre Dame onto his students creating lifelong learners and Fighting Irish fans.  His wife seldom understands his desire to attend every home game, then re-watch every game, then analyze every play of every game.  But as the great Lou Holtz would say, “Those who know Notre Dame, no explanation is necessary.  Those who don’t, no explanation will suffice.”  He also enjoys all other sports including (but not limited to) dodgeball, golf, and bocce ball.  On a more serious note, his all-time favorite Notre Dame football player is Manti Te’o … not because he’s the most recent talent, but because there has never been one like him … in all of college sports.

Elwood is a very single (but open to suggestions) graduate student studying English in the state of Mississippi.  He enjoys all sports and considers himself a “scratch” golfer.  Though his debate skills will prove to be slightly above par, it is evident that he has a passion for reading and for Notre Dame football.  Because of his superstitions, he refuses to sit down during any Notre Dame game.  His all-time favorite player is Joey Getherall because of how small and gritty he was.  He played way bigger than his size and was a threat every time he touched the ball.

The two will debate anything Notre Dame football in a serious, but sometimes satirical, way with all respect heeded.  Nah, just kidding.  Go Irish!
